Welcome to Come Together Kids!

I'm excited to share some of the ideas that have worked well for my family through this blog. I like to think that I'm pretty creative or at least, I'm good at taking an idea I see in a book, magazine or online and using it or adapting it to use with my own family. With three kids ~ a 7 1/2 year-old girl, a 6 year-old boy, and a 4 1/2 year-old girl ~ our house is in a state of constant chaos and what often seems like constant whining and bickering (myself included some days!). I'm not a very organized person, so I like projects that don't require a ton of prep work or supplies and I like trips that I can do spur-of-the-moment on days when the kids' fighting isn't so bad that it's best to stay out of the public eye.

I hope to post a variety of projects, activities and trips that have helped me Come Together with my Kids (inspiring the name of this blog!) I know that the kids and I tend to have our happiest days when we have the chance to come together to enjoy each others' company. Sometimes, though, we need a little extra nudge to actually turn off the TV or close the laptop and do a little something special together. I'm hoping this blog will be that nudge I need to take the time to truly enjoy this stage of motherhood. As any parent will tell you, they really do grow up too fast!

I'm not organized (or creative) enough to share a new idea every day. There might be some days when I post a few ideas, then the craziness of everyday life will lead to a lull before I post some more. Regardless, I hope you enjoy the ideas I share and find some fun ways to come together with your families.
